We battled long and hard for our 2nd place finish out of 9 teams. We were prepared and played very well as a team.  You showed a lot of character, maturity and sportsmanship over the course of a long day. As a team, you deserve a lot of credit. Nice job and congratulations!

Pool Play will be 1 hour 15 minutes Drop Dead.  Pool Play will not seed the brackets.  Teams will draw for their spot in the bracket.  A team representative needs to check in and draw for their spot in the bracket.  Pool games can end in a tie.  In pool play, teams will flip for home team. In bracket we will flip for home team except for the last game. The undefeated team will be the home team in the final game.  Brackets will be posted as soon as possible.  Bracket play should start at @11:30 or sooner.  The Championship Game will be at @10:00. Team coolers welcome. Games can be delayed due to weather issues or things beyond USSSA’s control.

Sumter, then Myrtle Beach!

 USSSA Team Worth Shootout, Sumter SC. One day Saturday 27th event, 8 16u teams, games start at 9:30am, Championship at 10:30pm. Worth giveaways, prizes etc.
     Beyond that, we will play in the WFC World series in Myrtle Beach Tuesday August 5 to 10.  3 pool games then seeded double elimination bracket play. Sunday August 11 games only if needed because of weather delays etc. Games are from 8:00am till 3:30pm. 16u teams from NY, NJ, OH, MD and SC. will be coming to compete!
We will train and prepare this week as previously announced and I will have our new jerseys by the end of the week.

Upcoming Tournaments

I have been exploring our next couple of tournament options, and here is how it shakes out. USSSA Team Worth Shootout, Sumter on July 27, 28, looks like a good opportunity to play. At least six 16u teams will be competing and there will be some prizes, giveaways, apparel and awards package. I have spoken with the director and early next week he will know if it will be a one day or two day. I am also keeping an eye on an ASA tournament for that weekend which is a combined 18u/16u in Myrtle Beach and WFC in No. Charleston.  I would still like for us to play teams in our age group at this time however.  Plan on playing for sure, as we will know more details, first of next week.
    Beyond that, there is a WFC World Series tournament in MYRTLE BEACH from Tuesday through Saturday, August 6 to 10. Already eight 16u teams from NY, NJ, OH, MD and SC. Entry fee is is higher but no travel, gas, hotel or gate fee for spectators. Plenty of softball too! Three pool games then seeded double elimination. Pool games on Tuesday and Wednesday (one or two each day), bracket starts on Thursday. Games are played from 8 to 3:30. Saturday is for the top three teams to battle it out. www.playwfc.org. I would like to see us compete at this venue. I am not aware of any players being away or out of town that week. Please review this as I must sign up for this in the next week if we are all on board. This weekends tournament is not meant to be and was cancelled because of wet weather. I would like to focus on the USSSA Team Worth Shootout on July 27, 28th in Sumter. We should have everyone healthy and present and there are already several teams signed up. This should be a nice tournament with awards and giveaways! I would like to re-schedule our team practice for Sunday 14th at 5:30 at NMB high school. I look forward to getting together again, as there are several important areas we will work on to continue our successful season.
